Midnight Season 2
It begins!
Season 1 ended, and we got everyone their Mythic L'ura mounts, the Ashes of Belo'ren:

So that got finished and was satisfying to get done, especially given how difficult Mythic L'ura was, at least initially.
And so season 2 is here, and we're, for some ungodly reason, taking another holiday from the expansion's main plot line, similar to how we did in War Within with Undermine, and going to fight a bunch of Snakes.
Yep, seriously. Forget Xal'atath, and the fact it's obvious she's gone into the World Core to attempt direct corruption of the World Soul of Azeroth. It'll be fine, we'll just take a 6 month detour to smack a bunch of snakes around because someone we've just allied with has a stupid brother who's gotten in way over his head and resurrected yet another old-school WoW villain: Hex Lord Malacrass.
le sigh
Into the Venomous Abyss
Anyway, as for the Venomous Abyss itself, it's a decent enough raid I guess. It's full of instantly forgettable bosses mind you, but the fights are for the most part fun enough I suppose.
We've cleared Heroic and got Ahead of the Curve by week 2, which is our usual pace. And we've also killed 2 boss in Mythic and going for 3 and 4 come Monday!
This week's heroic re-clear took 90 minutes, as we've all gained massive amounts of item level this week, with most of us entering the raid at around 317/318 iLevel. We decimated the place, and re-killed Heroic Ula'tek in 4 pulls, one-shotting everything else.
We killed Mythic Nymrissa, and I got a rank 1 EU kill, which was 2nd globally without PI, and 4th including PI recipients (which I'm not):

Overall Normal and Heroic are looking decent now and will only improve over the next 4/5 weeks as we re-clear Heroic for Ula'tek bonus rolls:

And mythic has started off decently too, including that Nymrissa kill:

So far my Ula'tek bonus rolls have gotten me the b-grade trinket (Font) and the weapon, and I'm sitting at 318.56 iLevel overall at the time of writing.
So yeah, it's been a decent start to the season so far, and week 3 has been a marked improvement over Week 2, which itself was a massive improvement from Week 1 for me.
I think that's mainly down to me needing to experience the fights for myself first and getting a feel for them, especially timings and choosing the right build for specific fights (still something I'm determining for a couple of fights) that works for me and how I play.
Still to come: BlizzCon!
Race to World First is still ongoing at the moment, and should wrap up this weekend. Just in time for BlizzCon 2026 next weekend!
That should be fun, as we should see the official The Last Titan reveal, which is going to be kinda weird, given we don't even know where the final raid of Midnight will take us. Presumably that'll be into the core of the planet to fight Xal'atath over the world soul of Azeroth herself.
Rumours have it that we'll be dealing with Xal'atath in 12.2, but that Azeroth will be freed, but out of control and attempting to wipe out all life on the planet in the finale, and that's the main thread and threat of The Final Titan - finding a way to stop Azeroth destroying her namesake planet and all life on and in it.
I'm looking forward to it, should be a fun weekend!
