It's just over a year since I transitioned away from my previous, ostensibly World of Warcraft focused blog, Nerdrooted.

I launched Elder Logs with the intention of writing about a lot more than just Wow, and I'm proud to say I've stuck to that primary goal.

I've written on many subjects over the past year, including Linux, Tech, my neurodiversity, my mother's Alzheimer's diagnosis, other games such as Guild Wars 2 and of course still some writing about Wow.

One of the main goals, other than getting away from being self-constrained to writing about Azeroth, was to just get writing again. Blogging over on Nerdrooted got sparse by the end, due to that self-inflicted inability to use that blog for other subjects.

However starting with a clean slate meant I've been able to open up on all the aforementioned topics, which has itself seen me write more in the past year than I have done in over a decade.

36 posts in 12 months, averaging 3 per month is a much better average than my previous 18 articles in 48 months, by a long shot. Double the output in a quarter of the time, that's pretty decent, even if I do say so myself 😉

It would've taken me 8 years under the old setup to produce this past year's volume of output. That's both a sad indictment of how often I didn't blog, and a justification of my setting up shop here!

I've enjoyed this past year, and I hope you've found the blog useful, entertaining or just even a decent read and a way to kill a few minutes while on the loo! 😂

I just hope I can eventually find a theme I'm finally happy with 🤣

Here's to the future, and at least the next 12 months! 🥳🎉🍹
