A Smaller Web
As regular readers know, I love the small web, and have until now been running a theme on the site that, while fast, isn't exactly in keeping with the entire small web aesthetic IMO.
This new theme is one I'd bought about 3 months ago, and promptly forgot to implement.
Thanks AuDHD! 😄
Anyway, I've tweaked the css a little, only some colours, and some of the hbs files, mainly those which handle the front page stuff like post listings, and have enabled it as you can see.
No feature images in every post on the home-page and in the main body of the posts. That's not to say I won't use images where needed in posts, just that the front page will be a lot faster and easier to use, what with it being a simple dated list of posts in reverse chronological order.
It makes posting a lot quicker as well, not having to browse endless kinda-related images on Unsplash, even though that particular resource is great, and a major plus-point for Ghost.
I will still tweak this theme as needed though, because there's still a few bits about it I'd like to slightly change, such as the author info below the post etc, but overall it's a nice, initial draft of a small-web look for the website 😃
I'll keep on the lookout for similar, small-web inspired themes, because this might be considered a little too bare-bones, but it's a nice starter ❤️
